Child Custody Evaluations
San Diego Family Services provides much needed Child Custody Evaluations
with the utmost integrity, professionalism, and the “best interest
of the child” first and foremost. We help to facilitate change
for children and their families who are in need of family reorganization
after a divorce. We are experts in the field, who strive to maintain
an objective, impartial stance at all times.
We understand that children of high-conflict divorce have a drastically
higher risk of long-term emotional and psychological scarring. Dragging
out the evaluation process for many months at a time creates a significant
amount of unneeded distress and damaging effects for the children and their
families. We take this work very seriously, and realize that the child’s
voice should be heard by sensitive, well-trained professionals as quickly
as possible. So we pride ourselves on providing efficient and timely
evaluations.
Dr. Christy Wise is a certified child custody evaluator and has met and
exceeded the requirements of California Rules of Court: Rule 5.225 and the
requirements of the California Rules of court: Rule 5.230 Domestic Violence
update for 2004.
Gastric Bypass Evaluations
A psychological evaluation is required before a patient undergoes gastric
bypass surgery. The purpose of this evaluation is to assess if there
are any psychological issues that are relevant to the surgery and that may
hinder the effectiveness of the surgery or compliance with the post-surgery
plan. San Diego Family Services is skilled at providing this type of
psychological evaluation and utilizes the assessment procedures suggested
by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
In addition to pre-surgery evaluations, offers ongoing therapy and support
for gastric bypass patients to help with the physical and emotional adjustments
that need to be made post-surgery to help ensure ongoing success.
Learning Disabilities Assessment
At San Diego Family Services, we understand how much a learning disability
can effect a child’s progress in school and the importance of identifying
it early. We provide comprehensive learning disability assessments
to assess cognitive ability, all areas of processing, and all areas of achievement. We
use an extensive battery of assessment tools to determine each child’s
individual strengths and weaknesses and offer recommendations to parents
based on this assessment.
