Lila Devasher earned a Master of Arts degree in Psychology at Sonoma State University, in Sonoma County, with honors in 1975. Licensed as an Marriage, Family, Child Counselor in 1977, License # MFC 9296.
As an MFT intern, her committee consisted of a Clinical Psychologist, a MFT and two Psychiatrist's. Patients included children, adolescents, family and adults. The diversified team provided an opportunity to work in a Clinical environment, Hospital, school district, and the Probation department for felon offenders/gang unit.
The scope of her work has included psychiatric disorders, such as, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Depression, PTSD, ADD/ADHD,
Geortzman's syndrome, Victims of Violent crime, Geriatric inpatient and psychiatric patients.
Family dynamics are a primary focus of treatment in order to achieve optimum intervention strategies and long term results. Coordination of service has included Psychiatric, residential care personnel, school personnel,
CPS, Probation and Victim's Witness cases. When all entities are included, a consistent team
oriented approach is provided.
Specialties include severe psychiatric disorders, resolution of severe traumatic issues, communication skills,
crisis intervention, integration of therapeutic modalities, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, sand tray therapy,
art therapy, movement therapy and conflict resolution skills.
Lila has a strong sense of compassion, respect and drive to provide an experience of empowerment, a desire to change, to instill hope, trust, and self-esteem.
